Creating notes and annotations

The Markup Toolbar contains several options for creating annotations, including Sticky Notes, Page Markups, and Bookmarks.

Note

When you create annotations and markups, such as highlights or pen marks, they are private, and you cannot share them with other directors.

  1. To add a sticky note, select the Sticky Note tool to open the Notes Panel.

    Note

To add a sticky note anywhere on a page, right-click (or, on a touchscreen, long press) that location. Visit Sticky notes for full information on adding and working with sticky notes.

  2. To add highlight marks to the page, select the Freehand Highlighter tool.

To access the color selection panel, select the downward facing arrow next to the Freehand Highlighter tool. You can now select a color of your preference. Existing freehand highlights will remain the same.

  3. To add highlights neatly to sections of text, select the Text Highlighter tool.

To access the color selection panel, select the downward facing arrow next to the Text Highlighter tool. You can now select a color of your preference. Existing text highlights will remain the same.

  4. To draw solid lines on the page, select the Pen tool.

To change the pen’s color and line thickness, select the downward facing arrow next to the Pen tool. The weight options appear on top of the selection panel and the color options are below. You can now adjust the settings to your preference. Existing pen marks will remain the same.

  5. To remove any marks or highlights, select the Erase tool.

    Note

The Erase tool works only with markups. It will not remove sticky notes.

  6. To bookmark a page, select the bookmark icon in the upper-right-hand corner of the page.

  7. To undo an action, select the Undo option.

  8. To redo an action, select the Redo option.

  9. To delete your annotations, select the Delete option. A menu will appear with options to delete all annotations from the page, to delete the pen & highlights from the page, or to delete annotations from the entire book.

  10. To resume normal navigation and turn off the annotation functionality, select the Navigate button.
