Permission types explained

There are a number of different permission levels in Diligent Workflow. It's important to understand them so you can assign the appropriate permissions to a user.

Grading Role Permissions
Admin level Global administrators

Global Administrators have admin permissions for all business areas within the organisation site.

  • Create and manage all accounts (users), departments, and site level settings

  • Amend global and business area lookups for every business area

  • Run reports for all business areas

  • Create jobs in all business areas

  • Start and cancel workflows

  • Add users to a running workflow

  • Complete tasks assigned to them

  • Create personalised jobs and task views

Business area manager

Business Area managers' capabilities are limited to the business areas they are authorised to access.

  • Manage user permissions

  • Amend lookups

  • Run reports

  • Create jobs

  • Start and cancel workflows

  • Add users to a running workflow

  • Create job and task views

  • Complete their own tasks

Business area permissions Business Area Editor

Limited to the business areas they are authorised to access.

  • Create jobs

  • Upload content into job folders

  • Start and cancel workflows within jobs

  • Add users to a running workflow

  • Create jobs and task views

  • Complete their own tasks

Business Area Viewer

Limited to the business areas they are authorised to access.

  • View jobs and files within jobs.
