Managing meters
You can enter meter readings into the Meter Manager screen manually or using the Bulk Import Meters or Multi-Site Upload features. The system automatically calculates the quantity consumed based on the previous and current meter reading.
-
To navigate to the Meter Manager, select Data Management and select Meter Manager.
All your organization's electricity, electricity generation, gas, and water meters are listed on the Meters Manager screen. Within this screen you can add new meters, remove meters, or edit existing meters.
This functionality applies to the following activity or meter types:
-
Electricity Use
-
Electricity Generation
-
Stationary Fuel Use (Natural Gas)
-
Water Use
-
Purchased Heat and Steam
Validation of meter readings
The system can verify that the meter readings are sequential. In other words, the system does not accept a meter reading that occurs before the previous reading, unless the new meter reading is a smaller number than the previous meter reading, with this validation being carried out during data entry.
If a new meter reading occurs before an existing meter record, and is a valid reading, then you must re-adjust all affected activity data entries to take the new reading into account. The affected activity data entries are the meter readings either side of the new meter reading. At the very least, you must adjust the start date, the quantity value, and the associated cost value.
