Working in Offline Projects

Offline Projects is a component in ACL for Windows  that allows you to continue to work with the Projects app while disconnected from Diligent One and access entire sections from projects offline.

Once you have checked out a section from a project, you can work with the section while disconnected from Diligent One. You can add issues to record gaps, upload and download attachments, sign off on work, and view and download files from requests.

Limitations

Citation Mode highlights and links in Offline Projects are not supported.

Caution

Since Citation Mode highlights and links do not display in Offline Projects, be careful when removing text in description fields. Removing text associated with citations also removes the citations.

Permissions

This task can only be completed by Professional Managers or Professional Users.

Steps

Notes

  • Interface terms are customizable, and fields and tabs are configurable. In your instance of Diligent One, some terms, fields, and tabs may be different.
  • If a required field is left blank, you will see a warning message: This field is required. Some custom fields may have default values.
  1. From your computer, open ACL for Windows, and click Diligent One Project.

  2. Click the section name link to open the section.

The Control List page opens. If you need to work with controls, skip to step 3.

    Note

If the project has been deleted in the Projects app, or your role assignment has changed on a project, you will encounter an error stating that you no longer have access to the project. If the project exists in the Projects app, a Professional Manager can reinstate your access to the project.

  3. From the Menu, click Overview, and click the appropriate field(s) to edit values.
  4. Click Control List.

You can quickly navigate to a walkthrough or testing phase of a single control by clicking Walkthrough or Testing. The green checkmark  indicates the control is designed appropriately/operating effectively, while the red "x"  indicates the control has a design failure/exceptions noted. If the control has not yet been reviewed for design or operating effectiveness, a dotted line  displays.

  5. Select a control and click the appropriate field(s) to edit values.
  6. Using the Menu, do one or more of the following:
    • Click Control Definition and click the appropriate field(s) to edit values.
    • Click Walkthrough and click the appropriate field(s) to edit values.
    • Click Testing and click the appropriate field(s) to edit values.
    • Sign-off on a page.

If the page has previously been signed-off by a user in the Projects app, the page appears as read-only, and cannot be edited. If you are an Professional Manager or Professional User assigned as the Next Reviewer for the page, you have the permission to sign-off on submitted work.

      Tip

On any page, you can select a field and use Tab on your keyboard to quickly navigate to the next field.

  1. From the Walkthrough or Testing page, click the Requests side tab.

The Requests side tab displays the number of received requests out of the total requests submitted related to a specified control. You can click on any file name to download attachments associated with the request.

    Note

If you would like to view a list of all requests within the section, click the Requests side tab from the Control List page.

  2. Navigate back to the main menu by clicking < CONTROL LIST.
  3. From the Menu, click Issues.
  4. Select the appropriate issue and click the appropriate field(s) to edit values.
    Tip

You can quickly add a new issue by clicking + Create new Issue in the Walkthrough or Testing pages.

  5. Click < HOME to return to the homepage.
