Exporting storyboards

Export a storyboard in PDF format and share with other users as well as key project stakeholders. You can easily collaborate, review, and revise the storyboards.

Note

Only Results Admins, Professional Managers, and Professional Users can export a storyboard.

Export a storyboard to PDF

  1. Open the Storyboards app.
  2. Open a storyboard, and in the upper-right corner, click Share Storyboard.
  3. In the Storyboard Sharing panel, click ExportExport to PDF.

    The Export options panel appears.

  4. Enter a name for the file.
  5. Select Include filter details to include the filters applied in the storyboard.
  6. Select Layout:
    1. Same as storyboard exports in the same layout as the storyboard.
    2. One tile per page exports with one tile on each page.
  7. Select Password protect the document to secure the PDF with a password, and enter the password in the respective fields.

    Note

    Ensure to keep the password safe as you will need it to open the document.

  8. Click Export.

    The confirmation dialog box appears.

  9. Click Download when the button becomes available.

Result The storyboard is downloaded to your computer in PDF format.

Note that if the Downloads folder contains a file with the same name, then a number is appended to the downloaded file name in ascending numerical order. For example: Monthly Transaction.pdf, Monthly Transaction (1).pdf, etc.

Limitations

  • If your storyboard contains a tile with large content and has scroll bars to view it, based on the layout selected, the Export acts as follows:

    • Same as storyboard layout Content that is currently visible on screen with scroll bars in the default position is exported.
    • One tile per page layout Content up to one full page with scroll bars in the default position is exported.

  • The PDF is generated using default browser resolution: 1366 x 625 px. If your screen has a different display resolution or if you have applied zoom in / out on your browser, then some table columns may be excluded from the exported PDF.

  • Storyboard export currently does not support IP allowlisting. If you have provided Diligent One access only to specific IPs, then users with those IPs will not be able to export a storyboard to PDF.
