Copy a record trigger
Copy a trigger that is based on records to one or more other tables in the same Collection. Copying triggers saves manual configuration effort and ensures consistency among triggers that are needed across multiple tables.
Note
Only Results Admins, Professional Managers, or Professional Users can perform this task.
Trigger types
You can copy any trigger that is based on records to any other table in the same collection. Triggers based on metrics cannot be copied.
What gets copied?
Trigger settings
When you copy a record trigger from one table to another, the following settings are retained in the new trigger:
- Whether or not the trigger is enabled
- The trigger conditions. If a trigger condition references a field that does not exist in the target table, the condition is retained in the new trigger, however the field is removed from the condition and you must update the new trigger to use an existing field in the condition.
- The trigger frequency
- The trigger actions
The newly created trigger is copied to the end of the list of triggers on the target table.
Linked questionnaires
If the trigger includes a questionnaire that can only be sent from linked tables, a link is created from the questionnaire to the new table.
Copy indicators
Once you copy a trigger, a small circle icon appears next to the new trigger to indicate that it is a copy. This icon remains until you view the new trigger.
