Create a Company Profile
Creating a Company Profile report in the ReportIt Report Portal involves a combination of steps, including the placing of multiple tables onto the Report Design Surface and the use of inter-connected Property Filters and Parameters for each table. The process is outlined below.
First:
- In the ReportIt Report Portal, select the Create Report option to ReportIt Report Portal: Create a report.
- Select a Data Model to base the report on, then select Create Report.
- Save the report.
Report content can now be defined.
The first piece of information that you may want to see in your report is the Company Name.
Note
It is now possible to configure a No Rows Message in the Data Properties for a Table, to prevent users being presented with empty reports.
- Locate the relevant Entity (i.e. Companies) and drag the Company Name attribute on to the Report Design Surface.
- If the company name is to be at the top of the page then insert a Header and place the Company Name Attribute inside it. Otherwise, place the name of the company where preferred.
- Format the text as necessary.
- Add a Parameter to the table, ensuring that the Company Quickref is selected as the Parameter Value and Label field, and as the Filter Properties Filter Expression.
- Add a secondary Companies Data Set to the report.
- Drag the Companies Entity onto the Report Design Surface to create a table. Alternatively, select the Table icon and drag an empty table on to the Report Design Surface and populate it with the relevant Company Attributes.
- Delete the Company Name column from the table, as the data will already display above.
- Add a Property Filter to this secondary table. The Filter should be identical to the Property Filter set for the Company Name table, using the same Quickref expression. Doing so connects the two tables so that information is displayed as per the report reader's singular Quickref selection (i.e. details of the company chosen for the Company Name Attribute table).
- Continue to build the profile, adding a separate table for Addresses, Compliance Dates, Appointments, Share details (etc.), each with an identical Property Filter for Company QuickRef.
- After formatting the report, an example Company Profile report may look similar to the following.
- Select the Preview icon to preview the report, then Save it.
