Create multiple versions of a questionnaire

Once a questionnaire is made Active, it is available to users and cannot be changed. (See Activate a questionnaire.)

You can view different versions of the questionnaire by switching the Version in the Versions pane. Switching versions does not change which version is active.

Version and language considerations:

  • If you want to update an Active questionnaire, you can create a new version, make the changes, then activate the new version. A new version can only be created from the previous version, not an earlier version.
  • No new languages can be added to a version after the version is made active. A new version can be created and the language added.
  • A language can never be removed from a version.

You may also want to create multiple versions of a questionnaire for others to review.

To create a new version of an existing questionnaire

  1. Select the questionnaire.
  2. Select Show Versions History.
  3. Select the Create Version button. The new version is copied from the most recent version. All translations from the previous active version are carried forward to the new version.
  4. Add a Description and select Save New Version.

  5. Make changes to the questions, add questions, or delete questions as necessary.

    You can select a new language to add.

    1. From the Language dropdown, select the language you want to add from all available languages.

    2. Choose a response to the message asking if you want to add translations for the selected language.

      • Select Yes and the selected language will be added to the specific version. Add your changes. All updates to the questions are linked to the selected language and the corresponding version.

      • Select No and the selected language will not be added to the specific version.

  6. Select Save to save the new questionnaire.

To view a language for an active or inactive questionnaire

If the questionnaire is Active (checkbox selected) or inactive (checkbox deselected), the Language dropdown displays the list of languages used in translation for the version. Select a language to view the questionnaire in that language.
