FAQ
What does the Link Status field mean in third-party media monitoring?
The Link Status column in the media monitoring list indicates the validity of a URL associated with the original article. Powered by Third-Party Manager's proprietary validation method, this field
helps reduce effort and enhances adjudication efficiency. The values for Link Status are as follows.
-
Invalid Occasionally, you might encounter a few URLs that are marked Invalid that may actually be valid. However, the AI summary button remains available, and it is advisable to generate a summary on invalid links or consume the original article itself. A link can be invalid if it:
-
Is broken or expired.
-
Has failed to load.
-
Has timed out because the website is not resolved as the browser expected.
-
Has timed out because the website does not exist.
-
-
Valid Links to articles that are working as expected and can be adjudicated appropriately. These include premium articles that may require a subscription or log-in credentials to access content. On rare occasions, a URL identified as valid at the time of validation may become invalid at the time of adjudication because the publisher deleted, archived, or re-mapped the content.
-
Validation in progress Links to articles that are currently being validated. They will be marked Valid or Invalid, depending on the validation process outcome. It takes two to four days on average for URLs in hits to be validated, as the validation method processes more than 100,000 hits per customer each day for multiple customers.
-
Inconclusive Links to articles the validation method can't define as valid or invalid. Links can have an inconclusive status caused by issues with the cloud service provider hosting the web page, security measures, or host-applied rate limitations that prevent the validation method from determining a conclusive decision or outcome.
Are there any major changes to the usual adjudication and remediation processes?
There are no changes to the process you follow in Third-Party Manager to adjudicate or remediate.
What error messages may appear in the media monitoring article summarization feature?
The error messages that may appear are as follows:
-
Service error: AI service wasn't able to summarize the article - This occurs due to internal errors or web content limitations. You can still access the original article. This error typically happens if the LLM service fails due to a service provider issue or when summarization is attempted on a link marked as invalid.
-
Service error: AI service timed out – This happens when the article content is too long (20,000 words or more) or when the LLM is unable to summarize the article before its resource availability time expires. You can retry summarization by selecting the AI Summary button again. If the issue persists, open and review the original article. For ongoing issues, contact your CSM or reach out to us at support_3pm@diligent.com.
Why is the refinement search unavailable in third-party media monitoring results?

What languages does the media monitor summarization feature support?
