Navigation panel
The Navigation panel allows you to view and navigate the contents of a book.

Select the Navigation panel icon
to open the Navigation panel. -
At the top of the Navigation panel, a row of icons will allow you to choose what book feature you would like to display in the panel. By default, the Navigation option is selected. Other options may appear depending on your site configuration and content.
Note
Additional options such as Annotations, Updates, or Voting may appear at the top of the Navigation panel.

Two Navigation options are available: Outline and Thumbnail. By default, the panel will display the Outline view, a list of all the tabs and sub-tabs in the book.

To expand or collapse a tab with sub-tabs, select the arrow next to the tab's name.

Select any item in the outline to move to the relevant section of the book. The outline item will be highlighted to indicate the section currently being viewed.

Select Thumbnail to switch to a thumbnail navigation view, which shows a miniature version of every page in the book. If a page contains notes, markups, or is a voting document, an icon is displayed to indicate that status.
Note
Any pen or highlighter marks that you've made will also appear on page thumbnails.

Select any page thumbnail image to be taken directly to that page in the book.

When an iPad is in landscape orientation, the Navigation panel will remain docked as you turn pages. This makes it easy to reference the items in the panel as you navigate through the book.

Horizontal docking is a feature that can be turned off. See the "Landscape Docking" description in Boards iOS app settings.
