Create a Share Plan
Before you record a director's interest in joining share plans, you must first create the share plan in Diligent Entities.
Before you start
Make sure you have created the share class over which you want to grant the share plan. Refer to Create a Share Class to learn more.
-
Open the company record and go to Ownership > Share Plans.
-
On the Share Plans page, select Wizards > New Share Plan to open the New Share Plan wizard.
- On the Details page of the New Share Plan wizard, enter a name, select a plan type, and select the share class the plan is to be granted over, then select Next.
The currency of the plan defaults to the currency of the company's country of incorporation. You can change the currency if required.
Administrators can add share plan types to the list in System Tools > List Manager > Share Plan Types. Refer to List Manager for more information.
- On the Current Issue page, enter the issue reference, the price per share and the market value as well as the period during which the shares are exercisable or disposable. Enter any notes if necessary, then select Next.
The price per share and the market value can be modified when recording the interest.
-
On the Event Date page, enter the event date, then select Next.
-
On the Action page, choose whether you want to save the event as pending or update all records immediately, then select Next.
In the Tracking section, you can assign the event to a specific user and add a reminder. Refer to Pending events to learn more.
-
On the Finish page, wait while the event is processed. When the status shows as Completed, select Finish to close the wizard.
If you chose to update all records immediately, the Share Plans page displays the share plan you just created. Use the down arrow against the record to expand it and view its full details.
What's next?
Select Options against the share plan record to do the following:
- Modify the plan name, notes, type, currency or the class the plan is granted over by selecting Share Plan Options.
- Add several issues within one plan and edit or remove issues by selecting Share Plan Issues.
- Undo the share plan if it is no longer required by selecting Undo Share Plan.
You can record directors' interests in the share plan. Refer to Record Directors' Interest in Share Plans for more information.
