Gathering, evaluating, and documenting evidence
The process of gathering, evaluating, and documenting evidence involves a variety of activities. Typically, these activities include executing procedures or testing controls, requesting documentation from relevant stakeholders, documenting issues, and consulting with clients and other team members, as necessary.
How it works
Workflow-specific activities
Depending on the workflow associated with the project, you can either:
- record the outcome procedures you have executed (Workplan workflow)
- test the design and effectiveness of controls (Internal Control workflow)
For more information, see Executing procedures and testing controls.
What is a workflow?
Workflows define the components available in a project. For more information, see Workflows and project types.
Other activities
At any point during your project work, you can also perform any of the following activities, regardless of the workflow associated with the project:
Activity | Information |
---|---|
Request documentation from business owners and stakeholders | Adding requests |
Upload files to include supporting documentation in a project | Working with attachments |
Capture and assign flagged issues for remediation | Recording issues |
Document remediation and retesting results | Remediating and retesting issues |
Cite all of the source material to back up your key findings and assessments | Citing evidence |
Collaborate with team members by creating review notes (to-dos) | Assigning to-dos |
Sign-off on work and assign another person on your team to review your work | Reviewing work and signing-off |
